Padma Awards:
Instituted in 1954, these are among India's highest civilian honors, recognizing achievements in various disciplines such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, and civil service.
Award Ceremony:
The awards are traditionally conferred by the President of India at a ceremonial function held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, usually around March or April each year.
